    Tue 28 Jan 2025

    Dear School Community,

I am thrilled to share some fantastic news with you! In this week's edition of the Ilford Recorder, St Antony's Catholic Primary School has been proudly featured as one of the top 10 performing schools in the Redbridge area! The article, which highlights the best and worst performing primary schools in the borough, can be found here.

This recognition highlights the incredible effort, dedication, and passion of our staff, pupils, and the continuous support we receive from you, our parents and carers. It reflects not only the academic achievements of our pupils but also the caring, supportive community we have here at St Antony's.

Our pupils continue to excel, and this recognition is a true reflection of their hard work, as well as the nurturing environment we provide to help them succeed in every aspect of their education. We are incredibly proud of all that our pupils have accomplished, and we look forward to even greater success in the future.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to each of you for your ongoing support. Your partnership in your child’s learning is invaluable, and together, we will continue to make St Antony’s a school where every pupil can thrive.

  • Year 3DT

    Tue 10 Dec 2024

In our DT lesson last week, we learnt how to construct 3D shapes in order to help us to construct a castle. We learnt that a net is what a 3D shape would look like if it were opened out flat. We constructed a range of 3D geometric shapes using a net by:

    • -Cutting along the bold lines.
    • -Folding along the dotted lines.
    • -Keeping the tabs the correct size.
    • -Making crisply folded edges.
    • -Constructing the net using glue to make a geometric shape.
    • We then joined some of the shapes we made and constructed a paper castle

Year 4 Design and Technology: Making Pavilions

In Year 4, we’re getting creative with design and technology by building our very own pavilions! Using lollipop sticks and pipe cleaners, we'll construct unique structures that showcase our imagination. It’s a fantastic way to explore materials and learn about stability while having a whale of a time.

  • Year 4 Roman Day Adventure!

    Tue 19 Nov 2024

What a fantastic day we had for Year 4 Roman Day! The children donned their best togas and tunics, really getting into the spirit of the occasion. We kicked things off by showing them some impressive swords and various Roman artefacts that sparked their imaginations. It was a joy to see their faces light up as they explored the items, learning about the lives of Romans in a fun, hands-on way. The enthusiasm was infectious, and everyone left with a newfound appreciation for history. Huge thanks to all who helped make the day so memorable!

  • Learning can be delicious...

    Tue 19 Nov 2024 Year 4

This week in Year 4, we had an absolute blast with our Marshmallow Learning in maths! The children engaged with practical objects, creating shapes and structures using marshmallows and spaghetti. It was a fantastic way to make abstract concepts more tangible and enjoyable. Watching them collaborate and experiment brought so much joy, and the smiles on their faces said it all. Learning can truly be delicious when you add a bit of creativity to the mix!

It’s all about having fun, supporting one another, and blossoming as a team. We can’t wait to see how they continue to progress!
